Keith is passionate about serving and supporting the needs of the socially, politically, and economically underserved communities. He is an active leader in the community by advocating for those struggling with mental health issues. Keith is a co-owner and practice administrator of The Social and Emotional Learning Group, PLLC, (The S.E.L. Group), a premier psychotherapy private practice in Greensboro, NC. In this role, Keith provides executive leadership and direction to staff. The S.E.L. Group was founded by Keith and his wife, Dr. Nannette S. Funderburk in August 2008. The practice mission is to empower others with practical skills in handling life's issues. Keith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and a business minor, from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. He was a successful corporate trainer for 10 years in a large bank in Charlotte, NC. On the corporate track for even greater success, he enjoyed training hundreds of bank employees throughout his tenure and connecting with the senior executive leadership of the bank in a diversity leadership program integral to carrying out the institution’s core values. Currently, Keith has interests in helping others develop personal and professional success through partnering and community building with local businesses, nonprofit agencies, and civic leaders in the greater Piedmont Triad. By working with individuals and organizations, he promotes personal excellence, respect, trust, and accountability. In his private practice, he encourages patients and staff members to use empathy, communication, and faith to meet their goals.
